Sessions Point - When you embark upon the Sessions Point community off of Bear Bluff Road either via Ard Drive or Sissell Way, one of the most notable sights is the brick wall with the community name. The Sessions Point sign is a striking feature deliberately designed to resemble what it might look like if an artillery shell might come in contact with a brick wall.
Throughout the course of the American Revolutionary War, over 200 battles were fought in South Carolina, more than any other state. At the site of Sessions Point in 1781, it is at this bluff near the Waccamaw River that Loyalists surprised a company of Patriots, a battle occurred, the Patriots capitulated - except for Josias Sessions and eight soldiers who swam away and settled at this site rather than be captured in the black waters. The name of this community and design of the sign serve as a reminder of these times.
Session Point is a new home community located a few miles east of downtown Conway, close to the Waccamaw River, near where Old Reaves Ferry Road intersects with Bear Bluff Road.
There will be 90 single family homes developed in the new home community of Sessions Point. Mungo Homes (a division of the Clayton Home Building Group and a Berkshire Hathaway company) is the builder at Sessions Point. Sessions Point features open floorplans, spacious lots and even select waterfront lots. Plans range from 1,600 to more than 3,000 square feet and include up to six bedrooms. Most plans include a designated home office, flex or bonus room, or extra bedroom perfect for homeschooling or when working from home. Future amenities include a community garden and a community pool! As of early June 2023, homes are selling from the low $300's to the low $400's.
