Somerset is a new home community that started to sell as of December 2024. Somerset will consist of single-family homes located in Socastee with easy access to Highway 544 and Highway 501. The new home community of Somerset will be conveniently located across Highway 544 from another new home community - Lyden Village. The existing subdivision of Cabot's Creek is located adjacent on the north side of Somerset.

Beazer Homes is the builder. In September of 2023, Beazer purchased 17 acres (Phase 1) and 21 acres (Phase 2). These two Beazer phases are a portion of the 158-acre master planned community of Palmetto Bays Estates - of which Horry County has approved the development of 120 multi-family homes and 359 single-family homes.
