NEW - Carolina Forest / River Oaks / SC 31 Interchange
Horry County Government is proposing to extend Augusta Plantation Drive and Revolutionary War Way to connect at a New Interchange on SC 31 (Carolina Bays Parkway). The interchange would provide connectivity to and across SC 31 for residents and visitors between Carolina Forest Boulevard, River Oaks Drive, and the existing interchanges at US 501 and International Drive/Robert M. Grissom Parkway. The proposed improvements include the extension of Revolutionary War Way approximately 4,000 feet south across SC 31 to connect to existing Augusta Plantation Drive. Consistent with these existing facilities, the extended roadway would include two 12-foot travel lanes in each direction, divided by an approximate 20-foot raised median. An 8-foot path is proposed to the west, separated from the roadway by a 4-foot grassed buffer. The interchange is proposed to be a diamond interchange with a cloverleaf. The eastbound entrance and exit ramps are proposed to be one-lane diamond ramps along with the westbound exit ramp; while the westbound entrance ramp is proposed to be a one-lane cloverleaf ramp. The proposed design includes new traffic signals at River Oaks Elementary School, Brentford Place/Village Parkway, and Marylebone Drive. Additionally, roundabouts are proposed at the interchange on/off ramps on both sides of SC 31, and at Ten Oaks Middle School.
